Our Faurecia Clean Mobility Asia Pacific Division is looking for a Asia Pacific Global Commodity Purchasing Manager based at Shanghai (China).

The Asia Pacific Global Commodity Purchasing Manager is responsible for AP division commodity strategy supplier panel, deployment of commodity best practices and tools as well as budget achievement.  He/she defines innovation criteria to evaluate supplier innovation capabilities for the commodity, manages activities of Country Commodity Buyers to leverage global purchasing spend, and leads negotiations with global suppliers as appropriate together with Global Commodity Purchasing team.


The main missions of the role are:

  • Define the Asia Pacific commodity strategy (segmentation, consolidation, market analysis, cost drivers and cost model analysis, panel management) in coordination with BG/Region Commodity Purchasing;
  • Negotiate contracts with  suppliers in coordination with country commodity buyers;
  • Contribute to the deployment of the Division commodity strategy through the serial and program sourcing activities in AP countries;
  • Be responsible for the quality, cost and delivery (QCD) performance of the suppliers of his/her commodity and when necessary support the corrective actions;
  • Sponsor the innovation through identification of breakthrough solutions from suppliers to generate competitive products for our customers;
  • Animate network and manage functionally the Commodity Managers & Buyers dedicated to the specific commodity;
  • Provide expertise, share and deploy best practices to commodity managers and buyers under their responsibility. 

The ideal candidate will have/be :

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business.

Nice to have: Professional purchasing qualification

Experience :

    • Minimum 3 years experience in Purchasing in an industrial environment, including a commodity buyer experience

Nice to have: Proven experience in a Leader /Management role

Skills and competencies : 

    • Deep understanding of business practices, market dynamics and trends
    • Knowledge of Purchasing contractual and legal aspects
    • Ability to formalize a global commodity strategy, considering local supplier panel.
    • Fluent in English
    • International mind-set
    • Ability to work in a matrix organization
    • No any travel restrictions and limitations inside Asia Pacific countries.
    • Strong business understanding and negotiation skills

Nice to have

    • Knowledge of cost modelling
