Our Emissions Control Technology division is looking for a BenderTechnician for its Gladstone manufacturing facility in Columbus, IN.
  • Perform the duties of a General Operator during “up” time by running and maintaining multiple bending/sizing machines on a day to day basis.
  • Perform the duties of Gap Leader in production cell
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and takes corrective action.
  • Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality, while minimizing scrap and rework.
  • Identify tooling substitutions in all areas of bending when necessary.
  • Complete tool changes and identify alternate bending/sizing options.
  • Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in next set-up.
  • Obtain sample work piece(s) to verify conformance to specifications using various instruments.
  • Validate equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
  • Perform a start of shift safety signoff to ensure that all safety features on assigned equipment are operational.
  • Maintain the quality aspects of the product/processes, and set-up procedures.
  • Train Set Up Technicians and Trainees on the safe operation of production equipment.
  • Train Set Up Technicians and Trainees in proper methods of tooling, fixturing and guarding changes; adjustment, repair and maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Training Set Up Technicians and Trainees in the proper methods of set-up on pipe benders, pipe end finishing and tubing pipe.
  • Work with Maintenance and Engineering to trouble shoot problems
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment in line with company policies.
  • Adhere to and stay abreast of company policies.
  • Commit to the corporate goals, mission and vision.
  • Submit at least one Continuous Improvement per month.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

    • Technical diploma preferred
    • At least 3 years of working knowledge of all production tooling utilized within this type of fast paced manufacturing exhaust environment
    • Be able to perform tasks of substantial variety or complexity which require an extensive knowledge of processing techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment relative to area assigned
    • Working knowledge of Quality Systems as well as Health, Safety and Environment requirements
    • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
    • Satisfactory company work record, including attendance
    • Successful completion of Faurecia’s in-house training program
    • Ability to follow instruction verbal and written - good math, language and reading skills required
    • Good communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate with employees of all levels
    • Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and in a positive manner
    • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
    • Capable of trouble shooting and performing complex technical problem solving processes
    • Manual dexterity skills
    • Attendance to bender training class
