Our Faurecia U.S. division is looking for a Communications Director located in Auburn Hills, MI.
 
Mission
To develop, drive and manage the communications plan to strengthen Faurecia’s corporate image and accompany our transformation (strategic, technology, digital and cultural) in the United States in line with our position as the eighth largest automotive supplier. Lead both internal and external communications activities in the U.S. and within three main priorities: Technology Brand, Employer Brand and Employee Engagement.
 
 
The main roles and responsibilities are:
 
  • Strategic Vision – Effectively share strategies on the company's future direction, including our technology innovations, partnerships and investments with all key stakeholders.
     
  • Technology Thought Leadership – Help share Faurecia's current innovations and innovation strategy to strengthen its Technology Brand among key audiences, including: Customers, current employees, the investment community, and prospective employees.
     
  • Talent Retention and Acquisition – Assist with retention and growth of Faurecia's best talent by fully engaging employees and attract new talent to the organization that will further its progress toward goals.
     
  • Employee Engagement – Strengthen employee engagement in the U.S. by developing the overall strategy to communicate clearly and consistently with employees, highlight individual and team success, create connections among functions, sites and divisions, and promote cultural values.
     
  • Media Relations – Build and maintain strong relationships with the media, public/government officials and relevant associations/ professional associations. Develop and train network of spokespeople, identify appropriate media and public speaking opportunities.
     
  • Reputation management and social media – Develop and lead content strategy within key social media platforms in the U.S. Expand the corporate Voices and ambassadors programs on social media in particular Linked In and Instagram to promote company expertise, create pride amongst employees and building a lasting employer brand
     
  • Corporate Event Management – Manage and/or contribute to all corporate events in North America including our participation at trade shows; customer events, site events  and internal leadership conferences.
     
  • Internal Communications – Develop and deploy strong internal communications program including events management, internal publications print and on-line and support to division management with their activities. Contribute to visibility of division management, coherence of message and sharing best practice amongst sites to reinforce operational excellence.
     
  • Charitable Giving and Community Relations – Manage regional and local community service activities and in particular lead the FUELS food donation program and charity donations.
     
  • Crisis Communications – Support crisis communications training of site management teams and crisis communications management activities in the event of emergency and restructuring activities.
     
  • Budget Management – Manage budget, agencies and a team of four people.

  • Global network – participate actively in global programs and coordination across all countries led by Paris headquarters.
 
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 4-year degree in Communications, or other business-related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Experience in international company or having worked outside of U.S.
  • Superior people management skills
  • Excellent communications skills and relationship management
  • Strong communications experience in particular within a B2B organizations, automotive or technology company
  • Budgeting, organization and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple divisions, departments and external partners
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
