Our R&D Division is looking for a Computational Scientist (M/F) for its R&D Center / Innovation Department at Etampes (91). 

 

Faurecia is developing groundbreaking solutions for the new paradigm of the automotive industry (CASE Connected, Autonomous, SHared & Electrified).
The Department of Innovation for Seating works with diverse multi-disciplinary teams throughout Faurecia to address a number of optimized design, and other relevant questions using mathematics, modeling, simulation, data science, machine learning, and other computationally challenging techniques.
 We are looking for exceptional candidates to build out our analytical tools,, develop novel algorithms and models for enhance safety & NVH performances.
 
The Computational Scientist, Applied Mathematics will:
 
. Be responsible for ingesting and analyzing high volumes of seat data (from sensors, during a crashtests…)
. Be responsible for developing C++/Matlab/java/Python algorithms to support mathematical/mechanical analytics; as well as, highest level of optimization (in weight, performances, roominess…)
· Participate in the full lifecycle of development from conception, analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment
. Use Faurecia and Third Party Developer APIs to support innovative features across Faurecia devices, web, and mobile platforms.
. Research and develop mathematical / Mechanical models to better understand vehicle / Seat design and optimizaion
. Apply theoretical techniques to real world engineering problems
. Document results (5 why methodology, Root Causes Analysis…) in technical reports and presentations
. Follow state-of-the art research conducted in a variety of scientific communities
. Develop and implement algorithms adhering to software engineering best practices
. Develop models and simulations of mathematical/mechanical structure behavior
. Develop novel approaches for data analysis within crashworthiness or acoustics
The ideal candidate will have/be:
 
· MSc or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computational Science or Mechanical Engineering
.  Proficiency in one or more scientific programming / scripting languages: C, Python, Matlab, etc.
. Proficiency in Linux
. Proficiency in Automotive FEA (crashtests, acoustics, fatigue, stiffness…) with either NASTRAN, PAMCRASH, LSDYNA or RADIOSS.
. Strong problem solving, statistical, and mathematical skills.
· Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
. Demonstrated experience modeling structural automotive systems.
. Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction
. Experience developing Machine Learning algorithms
