Our [Group Finance] is looking for a Customs SSC Classifier for its [HHQ Site] at [Puebla].
Essential responsibilities and duties
  • Classify goods,within the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and the NALADISA indicating special trade programs where applicable.  Apply Export Schedule B number and Commodity Control Number (ECCN) following the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The main missions of the role are:
The employee will perform the following functions.
  • Determine the customs classification code and applicable duty rate using the HTS and the NALADISA for different items and interpret the Harmonized Tariffs along with chapter and explanatory notes.
  • Identifying applicable government agency requirements per country.
  • Apply special trade programs and ensure long descriptions are accurate and complete.
  • Properly determine and apply Antidumping and Countervailing case numbers and duty rates.
  • Knowledge of the Commerce Control List (CCL) and ability to accurately assign ECCN’s
  • Ability to determine if export license is required under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Respond to daily classification workflow from internal customers and inquiries from customs brokers.
  • Develop and retain audit trails to support the classification assigned and update classification database system.
  • Responsible for HTS audits.
  • Source Customs rulings to support classification determinations.
Performs other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: Bachelor’s Degree in international business, customs and external trade or related.
Experience :
  • 4 years in similar job position.
  • Intermediate Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP ERP System.
  • Knowledge in Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Commodity Control Number, Export Administration Regulations, Customs Law, International Treaties, Incoterms and Export Programs.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
