Our Engineering Organisation is looking for a Teamleader D&D (m/f) to be based at Peine.

  • Manage a team of Development Engineers, Product Design Engineers and Design Engineers.
  • Ensure continuous development of the team by coaching, conduct team members yearly Performance and Objectives Review (STAR) with support of PDL or SPDE.                  
  • Develop team skills and competencies. Ensure team awareness of, and use of standards and methodologies.
  • Define training needs of team members and establish individual training plan.      
  • Manage the holidays from the DE, PDE and Design Engineers and IAM (manage rights)                    
  • Staffing & Budget Management                              
  • Ensure DE/PDE/ Design Engineers allocations on programs as per the forecast , considering experience, skills and competencies of the people                                         
  • Launch request for quotation in case of lack of internal resources (onsites, external or new hiring)
  • Review and confirmed  D&D resource budget for programs with Customer Engineering Dpt. Ensure D&D deliverables are in line with Program requirements. Continuously assess the resources against the scope of work and the capacity to deliver.  Ensure Team efficiency.                                       
  • Manage the holidays from the Team & IAM (manage the rights and termination date)                     
  • Product Robustness on Programs                                          
  • To ensure robust Product Design using and supporting the DFMEA sessions. Support risk assessment on product performance.                                 
  • Ensure team awareness of customer product specifications, internal standards,methodologies and guidelines as well as relevant regulations/legislation.                                    
  • Track product definition robustness, program deliverables and Timing with/ by using relevant KPI.
  • Track product performance validation and timing (against standards and state of the art) against relevant KPI (Geometry Convergence Plan, DV/PV and CMI).                                      
  • Participate to PPDR 2 to 9 and D&D Workshops upon PDL request                                           
  • Project Management                                  
  • To monitor the CMI versus timeline and take appropriate actions to meet the deadlines   
  • To participate to Design reviews upon PDL request                                        
  • To ensure that the D&D processes are followed (Open Issue list, Design Processes, Geometry Convergence Plan,…etc)                                            
  • To participate to Program Kick-off and agree with PDL and SPDE on all D&D deliverables 
  • To participate in RFQA reviews organice by CuE                               
  • Participation to Network activities                                        
  • As part of D&D Network, co-define and lead implemention of D&D Engineering methodology and standards.  Contribute actively to knowledge management,  by ensure D&D engineers are raising lessons learned                              
  • Support the D&D Team in the awareness of OEM specifications and worldwide regulations/legislations.                                            
  • To collaborate with GTS, giving feedback about current Standards and Guidelines based on program experience. To ensure that up to date Standards and Guidelines are used by D&D Team.   

The ideal candidate will have/be :

  • Meets the requirements of the Engineering Profile for the Team Leader function                     
  • English required, and customer’s language strongly encouraged                                      
  • Engineering Degree and 8 to 10 years experience in automotive Industry.                                    
  • Availability to travel                             
  • Knowledge of PMS                               
  • Strong leadership and communication skills                               
  • Multicultural mindset                                    
  • Good company network
