Responsibilities within GTS Mission A : “Build the Technology roadmap through internal and external benchmark, innovation drive and Strategic Plan fuelling”
 
Definition of the weakening process for an integrated/invisible passenger airbag (PAB) systems under the supervision of the Global Team Leader and in connection with the GTS Weakening and GTS extended network. 
 
Support the development team and production plants in the setup and programming of the weakening process of robotized and/or numeric controlled machines
 
Autonomously carry out the follow up of the technical feasibility, theoretical definition, startup and testing the production equipment of the project.
 
The GTS Interior Weakening Engineer is responsible to be the technical reference for the Airbag Weakening Technology domain, based upon the 4 GTS missions. This includes the development support of automotive interior Product and Process design, from concept to production.
 
The job scope includes strong interaction and communication with internal as well as external (OEM/Suppliers) engineering and design groups.
 
Lead and solve technical issues on weakening process in the field. Animate & participate to tool trials & tuning phases in compliance with performance targets (cycle time, scrap, SMED...) on standard process.
 
Responsibilities within Mission D : Develop the Technology competencies within FIS, animating networks and technical trainings
 

Contribute to identify new technical training needs, and accordingly create  and update training courses with the referent trainer(s)

Train the people through Technology Academy courses (for the selected GTS)

Develop internal and external Technology networks through : participation to technical exhibitions & forums, development of the relationships with OEM, supplier counterparts and FIS Experts & Specialists

 
 
 
 
 

The ideal candidate must have/be:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on cut & sew & covering automotive market on engineering area.
  • Advance know-how on Leather and artificial leather materials used to cover interior parts as door panels, Instrument panels and Center consoles with different technologies.
  • 2 or more years of experience with tools and machines as well as familiar with technical specification, it will be a plus.
  • Understanding of the systems where his/her technology domain is involved.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Technological curiosity and scientific approach (6 sigma, etc).
  • Design to cost approach.
  • Standard PC software knowledge (MS Office, etc.) and comfortable with digital tools.
  • Intercultural and open mindset, overseas experience is a plus.
  • Flexibility for frequent business travel.
  • Minimum bi-lingual (English required).
  • Network connection in automotive industry (suppliers, tier 1, tier 2, OEM,…) also valuable
