Our North American Interiors Division is looking for a Human Resources Intern for its Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan
The main purpose of the job:
The Human Resources Intern assists with orientating all new employees, as well as assists Human Resources Department with clerical / administrative responsibilities and HR projects.
The main duties of the job:
  • Assist with coordination of new-hire orientation: ensures new employees complete required forms, shows required training videos, explains company policies and benefits
  • Support intern recruitment activities (i.e. posting positions, scheduling interviews and securing feedback)
  • Maintains training records, track effectiveness, update induction plans and misc. functions in system
  • Assist and coordinate special events
  • Complete HRIS audits and update information as necessary
  • Maintains and updates personnel files
  • Trains employees and managers, when necessary
  • Performs general clerical duties: filing, tracking information, scheduling, etc.
  • Update monitors with new hire information and other HR specific topics
  • Maintain bulleting board postings and newsletter distribution
  • Maintain and create job descriptions
  • Create and distrube a bi-monthly Newsletter
  • Process invoices and purchase orders
  • Prepares Invitation/Travel letters for employees
  • Other duties and special projects assigned
The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • Sophomore/Junior enrolled in Human Resources courses
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources principles and concepts
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Data entry skills
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (primarily Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • GPA must be at least a 3.0
  • Available for a minimum of 30 hours per week
