Our Business Group Faurecia Interiors, which develops and produces dashboards, center consoles, cockpit and door panels, is looking for a cut & sew wrapping engineer for its Méru R & D Center (Hauts-de-France).

Job Description:

The cut & sew wrapping engineer will be the technical referent in his/her domain in an international environment. He/she will provide technical support by offering his/her product and process expertise on several projects and at various stages of product design. Frequent international travels will be necessary to support the project teams.

He/she will lead Product & Process development methods through Standards and Guidelines definition, and will ensure their application in various projects.

The domain Cut & sew wrapping  includes:

-          Leather, artificial Leather (PVC/PU), or other market materials for interior car upholstery.

 

-          Textiles and fabrics (knitted or woven) with scrim backing and threads.

 

-          Polyurethane foams and spacer fabrics (layers and pads),glues (Polyurethane reactive hot melt glues and water base)

 

-          Cutting, sewing and covering processes.

 

-          Leather lamination and sub processes linked with leather (splitting, skiving, embossing..)

 

-          Knowledge of product feasibility for manual covering

 

The main tasks of the foaming process engineer will be to:

• Promote and deploy Faurecia's technology portfolio to project teams from the acquisition phase, to the development phase, to serial life

• Conduct internal and external benchmarks and monitor technological progress in order to build the technological roadmap in line with the company's Strategic Plan

• Capitalize technical knowledge on its domain through the writing of standards and policies for product / process design and development, in collaboration with other departments

• Initiate improvement of the existing standards based on feedback from project teams

• Transfer technical know-how within Faurecia Interiors: design and lead training modules within the Technology Academy (internal university)

The ideal candidate will have:

• Master degree in Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cut & sew

• Fluent in English

• Interpersonal skills

• Ability to facilitate meetings and workshops with other departments and suppliers

• Curiosity and passion for technical domains

• Scientific approach (6 sigma, ADI etc.)

• Knowledge of standard software (MS Office) and at ease with digital design tools

• Driver's license
