Our North American Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Prototype Assembly Technician for its Prototype Operations in Columbus, Indiana.


The main missions of the role are to:


  • Utilize assembly tables/fixtures to accurately assemble exhaust components.

  • Accurately interpret dimensional blueprints\specifications including GD&T and metric or English measurements.

  • Utilize precision measurement equipment, including micrometers, scales, calipers, and levels to ensure proper assembly of components.

  • Operate GTAW/GMAW welding apparatus to join parts that meet customer/internal weld specifications.

  • Operate tube sizing, drill press, vertical/horizontal bandsaw, cutoff saw and end forming equipment to successfully produce parts that meet print specifications.

  • Assist in the daily maintenance of equipment located in the assembly area.

  • Fill out/Maintain any required process documentation.

  • Participate in GAP team – provide input on HSE issues/process improvements/problem solving Assist other prototype personnel with problem solving activities.

  • Work to implement/maintain FES processes and procedures in the Assembly Department.

  • Know, understand, follow, and instruct others on all applicable TS16949, ISO14001 and internal Faurecia policies and procedures. 

  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards in the Assembly.


The ideal candidate will have/be:


Minimum education level: Associate Degree


Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems
  • Experience in reading blueprints for complex parts

  • Exposure to prototype environment
  • Certification for welding to AWA standards
