Our Seating Division is looking for a Sales Manager for its Headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI.
Integrated within the Sales Organization of a given Customer Business Unit, the Sales Manager is responsible for the Sales development for a specific Account or part of the Account (Program, Serial Life, Acquisitions), within a Division/Region. The main missions of the role are to:
  • Develop in-depth intimacy with customers contracts at all levels (Engineering, Programs) with a special focus on purchasing counterpart.
  • Participate regularly in customer meetings (Progress reviews, quality reviews, commercial global meetings) and have updated information to review when required.
  • Understand competition in marketplace staying within FAS policy.
  • Prepare, Check and validate the commercial offers- reply in a manner to customer requests.
  • Develop a good understanding of the costing files/information("hands on" sometimes a pull system).
  • Generate targeted pricing and carve out a negotiation path using proven tactics to convince the customer on figures/position.
  • Ensure proper written documentation is sent to customer regarding pricing and addressing any and all commercial liabilities that could arise.
  • Align offers with technical proposal taking into account vertically integrated, free buy and mandated components.
  • Understand the baseline working agreements and contracts between Faurecia and the customer.
  • Support claims negotiation and maintain accurate price tracking chart for scope.
  • Work with sales analyst to ensure contracts match expectation and SAP is updated to reflect accurate up to date pricing.
  • Manage profit level for wither new quoted business or engineering change.
  • Develop detailed understanding of piece price, tooling and ED&D impact per change being quoted.
  • Understand Variable Cost Margin of the products under scope.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting driven by sales function.
  • Coordinate/drive commercial productivity proposals understanding impact to P&L.
  • Understanding and execution of VA-VE commercial mechanisms.
  • Deep understanding and commercial management of local economics (inflation, exchange rate).
  • Understanding of the sales administration guidelines & processes (purchase orders, invoices, terms of payment, overdue/cash management, customer payment milestones and documentation need for EED, Tooling, OT claims etc.).
  • Oversee commercial management for spare parts.
  • Work within the Faurecia systems and provide information as needed ( business plans, Gate Reviews etc.).
The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • MBA or Bachelor's degree.
  • Very Good communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of success on carious commercial assignments.
  • Exhibit good judgment.
  • 10 years of automotive experience.
  • Action oriented person with strong organizational skills.
  • Preferred established personal relationship with FCA in the market.
  • Finance skills required.
  • Preferred experience with seating (JIT/Covers/Metals).
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standard and willingness to adhere to Faurecia's Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
