Our Emission Control Division is looking for a system engineer for its R&D center at Bavans Essential responsibilities and duties

The system engineer will be in charge to define the expectation of the system and then the specification of each component. He chooses the best architecture based on simulation or tests, taking into consideration performance and cost of the solution. He develops the control law of the system before running its validation.


This position is hosted within the powertrain team, in charge to support innovation and validate the expectation of our system at vehicle level. Topics can vary from waste heat recovery to active acoustic or emission aftertreatment.


The main missions of the role are:

  • Defining/Analyzing system requirements
  • Choosing the best architecture (per simulation, with test result)
  • Defining component specification including the control of the system
  • Calibration/tuning of the control
  • the DVP&R of the full system
  • Requirement traceability including safety
  • Ensuring a good communication between the different component team working on the system
Qualifications<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The ideal candidate will have/be:


Minimum education level: Engineer degree, preferably generalist


Experience :

  • 5 years + experience in product development
  • Multiphysics simulation on tools such as GT or Amesim
  • Test on component
  • Serial development in the automotive industry
  • Customer communication


Skills and competencies

  • Good communication with different teams
  • Good understanding of physics (mechanic, electronic, control law) and high technical curiosity
  • Capacity to analyse data and explain the output to non-specialist
  • Initiative to build tool to get reliable result from the tests
