Our Interiors division is looking for a Tooling Coordinator for its manufacturing facility in Blue Springs, MO.
He/she is responsible for Simulation/Specifications and Technical/Timing/Budget Follow-up of Tools, Fixtures & Gages. His/her mission lasts from the program kick-off (before GR1) till Production Trial /Mass Production Trial (PT/MPT) including all changes related to product and/or process (as of Eng. Change Management). In the following fields, he/she has to:                  TechnicalUsing following input data:
  • FECT Core Process Equipment Technologies + library of standard Tooling, Equipment and Gages generic specs (including VA/VE, lessons learned, …),
  • Cost models,
  • Technical review with expert suppliers if applicable,
  • List of Equipment, Tools and Gages + industrial timing plan,
  • Product Definition: validated 3D models (aligned with 2D),
  • FES EDW (Equipment Design Workshop) + video of production process (flexibility: n, n+1, n-1) and tool C/O from Cardboard W., 20 FES equipment guidelines evaluation,
  • EHSR (Essential Health and Safety Requirements) and Machinery Safety Certificate template,
  • Updated PFA (Process Functional Analysis),
  • Updated PFMEA & Key Characteristics file,
  • MVP results (including simulation),
  • Machine Target Cycle Time and tool C/O time target,
He/She will:
  • Coordinate all technical activities related to tooling, fixtures & gages for his/her  perimeter
  • Liaise with process expert in case of feasibility risk
  • Follow up tooling aspects of MVP (Manufacturing Validation Plan) incl. process simulations (weld torch access, stamping & tube forming, …) and make improvements proposals
  • Follow up PFA (Process Functional Analysis)
  • Build a detailed timing plan for each tool/fixture/gage he/she will be responsible for (derived from Program Master Schedule managed by PM and Industrialization timing plan managed by PML) 
  • Release Long Lead Time (Ph 2A) and standard Lead Time (Ph 2B) tool/fixture/gage specifications for all parts of his/her perimeter. Make sure that they are approved by PQL (Program Quality Leader) for gages and PPTLs' for tooling & fixtures.
  • Take into account constraints related to Safety, Environment, Equipment interfaces, quick tool C/O, Ergonomics, Maintenance, Quality, Product …
  • Implement all changes on Tooling/Fixtures/Gages related to product and/or production system (as of Engineering Change Management)
  • Build up lessons learned after Tooling/Fixtures/Gages final approval to update generic specs and standards
Interfaces with Program Team, Purchasing Dept. and Supplier
  • Act as the interface between PML (Program Manufacturing Leader) & PPTL (Plant Program Team Leader) and Tooling Buyer.
  • Interface Tooling buyer for RFQ management when tooling/fixture/gage is designed / built outside FECT
  • Issue initial cost & timing estimate at Ph. 1 stage; Track cost and lead time together with PML and Tooling buyer
  • Track together with PML tool/fixture/gage design, build and set-up till final acceptance at PT / MPT stages
  • Lead, under PML/PPTL supervision, technical reviews & acceptance meetings with suppliers
  • Help technically tooling buyer to develop new suppliers. Alert in case of supplier workload issue
Targets and reporting
  • On time delivery and quality of tooling/fixture/gage in plant, PT/MPT on time
  • Tooling/ Fixture / gage at budget


The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • Graduated Mechanical Engineer or equivalent of 7 years of experience in project management and/or technical tooling experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in production area
  • Proven technical skills on product and process, GD&T, Fixturing & Gaging (Design, Maintenance, Fine tuning, Launching)
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to commit as a project manager for his/her perimeter, Comfortable with communication
  • Trained in Faurecia Excellence System, FES Equipment Design and PMS
  • Experience with Solidworks
