Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Tooling & Equipment Manager for its plant at Querétaro, Mexico.
Description :
The role of a T&E Program Buyer is to implement the specific requirements for new programs (supplier technologies, geographical location and target costs). The role continues to select and pilot suppliers from the agreed supplier panel in order to achieve Program objectives. The main missions of the role are to:
  • Participate in the program team from the offer conception phase/Pre-Requisition For Quotation Approval (RFQA), and involve expert suppliers in the Pre-RFQA phase.
  • Ensure supplier selection from the agreed supplier panel: in accordance with the commodity buyer, and consult suppliers. Negotiate or participate with the commodity buyer in supplier negotiations and the final choice of supplier.
  • Direct performance follow-up during the program phase: manage suppliers, assist in setting Program CAPex financial targets and compare costs  with objectives, ensure quality during the program phase, respect and track delivery deadlines and in particular ensure that the program phase reviews, or « gate » reviews  are supported within the framework of the Program Management System (PMS).
  • Ensure early involvement of the plant buyers in the program before the series phase.
  • Manage specific mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers.
  • Experience in equipment & tooling purchasing, including terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of tooling and equipment manufacturing practices and the differences between the two. 
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Act as an interface between the Program and Plant Launch Team.
  • GD&T understanding
  • Validate design of Equipment, Tools, and Gages at supplier along with monitoring the progress to completion date with weekly APQP meetings.

Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • BS in engineering
  • Purchasing or Maunfacturing experience of 7-10 years, preferably automotive in MRO, Capex purchases, and deep background in machinery, devices and periferical equipment,  welding cells and others.
  • Willingness to travel (USA & Mexico), which can be intensive during launch phase of the program. International travel is minimal, but does exist for equipment buy off.
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organisation
  • International mind set, overseas experience a plus
  • English mandatory
