Our Interiors division is seeking a Commodity Buyer for its Auburn Hills, MI location.

 

The role of a Commodity Buyer is to structure the building of a supplier panel for one or more commodities and ensure the overall productivity of the panel.

 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Structure the building of the panel: participate in the definition and the implementation of the purchasing panel policy for assigned commodities, manage supplier selection according to Group criteria

  • Panel management: ensure a regular follow-up of the supplier performance in relation with the Supplier Quality Assurance Manager and implement a supplier's reduction plan consistent with Divisions and in coordination with the Business Groups

  • Manage the global suppliers productivity in relation with plant buyers

  • Develop and implement tools to improve global productivity

  • Negotiate and implement general agreements with the main suppliers

  • Ensure the utilization of the panel by program and plant buyers

  • Ensure the reporting of his or her activities following defined policies

  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.

  • Support the leadership and commitment with respect to the environmental management system according to the NAO environmental policy and ISO 14001:2015.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

 
Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Commodity Buyer in an industrial environment

 

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Results orientation with strong written and oral communications skills

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization

  • International mind set, overseas experience a plus
