Our Automotive Seating Division is looking for an Engineering Intern for its Research & Development Center in Auburn Hills, MI.

 

The Seat R&D Intern is responsible to complete engineering projects. This role assists engineering functions to plan and execute complete development projects from initial concept through production launch serialization and post launch support of automotive seating systems and components ensuring the highest design quality and customer satisfaction.

 
Main Duties & Activities:

Each semester the student will rotate to a different area.  Areas to be explored include CAD, Complete Seat Design, Comfort and Trim Design, Frames and Mechanism Design, Validation and Testing, Manufacturing and Prototypes, and Engineering Services

  • Assist in producing and developing  complete seat system and seating component designs

  • Become familiar with CAD / CAE tools and data integrity requirements

  • Become familiar with engineering product data management and release systems

  • Complete all assignments within the designated schedules

  • Additional projects assigned by supervisor during internship 

The ideal candidate will have/be:
    • Good problem solving skills

    • Good oral and written communications and presentation skills

    • Good interpersonal skills

    • Good PC skills (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc)

    • CAD skills and experience are preferred but not required

    • Working knowledge of automotive specific engineering processes (Design to Cost, DFMEA, DFA/DFM, 8-D, 5-Phase, etc.) are preferred but not required

    • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
