Our R&D organization is looking for a Innovation Project Manager for our Auburn Hills, Michigan location.

Overall responsibilities and duties:

  • Invent the car interiors of the future to provide disruptive and meaningful UX with innovation that resonates with Faurecia strategy.
  • Drive innovation projects to develop the products and services enabling the breakthrough UX and anticipate future market trends within Automotive seating applications
The main missions of the role are:

  • Innovation project development plan including concept definition (proof of concept/proof of business), technologies and partner identification, statement of works, timeline, resources and budget plan
  • Technology maturity plan 
  • Project business case creation 
  • Innovation budget and processes respect
  • Management of cross-functional project team
  • Technical feasibility and business assessments are achieved
  • Project/Product meets Business Objectives
  • Compliance to the Innovation Delivery Process and deliverables
  • Targeted business programs and pilot program are identified and up-to-date
  • Project marketing & communication strategy is defined and developed
  • Proper resource definition and allocation on each project
  • That all risks on innovation projects are properly assessed, managed and removed
  • Report Innovation status (IPR, , MIC, Gates)
  • Report & promote innovation internally

  • Acquisition of new businesses
  • Worldwide network, drive outside communication with customer for external funding & promotion of Faurecia Innovations (customer TechDays, trade-shows…)
  • Innovation fueling process, new ideas and innovative solutions
  • Technical targets definition with experts
Management responsibilities:

  • Manage & secure projects Technical, Quality, Cost performances
  • Drive partnerships with suppliers, universities, institutes.
  • Manage and improve Innovation Delivery Process
  • Team coordination, need to allocate resources application, generic information…

Minimum education level: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics or mechanics


  • 5+ years of experience in Automotive systems, seating, software or EE components (Design/Development/Testing)
Skills & Competencies

  • Project management
  • Innovation tools and processes such as brainstorming, design thinking, agile methodology
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership, team building, experience in management are a plus
  • Entrepreneurial experience a bonus
  • Understanding multi-cultural business environment (establish relationships and trust)
  • Experience of global organization
