Our North American Faurecia Clean Mobility Division is looking for a PPIC Tool and Equipment Field Technician for its Clean Mobility Crossroads.  This is a traveling position.


The main missions of the PPIC Tool and Equipment Field Technician role are:

 

  • Traveling often to Faurecia manufacturing facilities to establish optimal programing set-ups on robotic weld equipment
  • Programming of standard HMI for tooling functionality and adjustment of tooling as needed to create parts that meet requirements
  • Required travel to FCM plants and JIT’s working with plant process engineers, welding specialists, and quality engineers to re-qualify weld equipment set-up and functionality through cut and etch 

 

 

Principal Accountabilities and Job Skills:

 
  • Set and validate parameters on robot welding equipment for GMAW applications
  • Supervise the programming, maintenance, and enhancement of welding paths on Fanuc and Yaskawa robots and positioners
  • Setup tools in equipment HMI and insure proper function
  • Adjust tooling as needed to meet dimensional requirements
  • Support machine/tooling runoff and machine/tooling acceptance
  • Lead/supervise and or participate in PPIC training activities as needed
  • Troubleshoot production welding equipment and tooling
  • Direct and support activities to ensure plant welding meets all customer and Faurecia welding standards and requirements
  • Support activities to reduce welding and process scrap in the plant 

 

 

Competencies:

 
  • GMAW welding experience
  • Ability to program new tooling paths for Fanuc and Motoman/Yaskawa robots and positioners, including coordinated motion programming for multiple axis/robots
  • Tool setup and adjustment experience
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team environment
  • Reading prints (1st angle projection) and using 3D models to understand how tooling needs to be assembled
 





The ideal candidate will have/be:


 


Education / Certifications:


    • 2 year technical degree in Welding and/or 5 years of on-the-job robot programming and welding experience
    • Mig/Tig welding and assembly experience
    • Must be able to pass the Faurecia weld training program for both GMAW and GTAW
    • Training in Fanuc and Yaskawa robot programming is preferred



 

 

 

 


 


Work Experience:


  • Manual GMAW and GTAW skills are required

  • Fanuc and Yaskawa robot programming experience is preferred

  • Welding experience of exhaust components is preferred

 

 

 

 

 

Other:

 

 

 

  • 80-90% travel is required
