Program Manager

Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, USA, LLC seeks a Program Manager in Columbus, Indiana. The position coordinates budget, engineering, quality, and timing for complex multi-million-dollar, multi-plant light vehicle emissions control programs, from program acquisition through final production, and is the principal technical liaison between Production and OEM customer. National and international travel 20%. Duties: gather engineering, production, and sales information for use in quotes, price negotiation, and budget and profitability analyses for OEM emissions programs; liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, and perform plan validation for production (prototype tooling, production and tooling pricing, and capital equipment); secure capital commitments needed for production of OEM emissions programs; evaluate engineering processes, material selection, and technical product specifications to ensure program profit targets are met; develop business plan for emissions programs in conjunction with Sales and co-present business plan to OEM; perform monthly risk and opportunity analyses for multi-million-dollar OEM light vehicle emissions control programs; perform 8D and DMAIC analyses for warranty claims, and present data to OEM; lead communication between Production and OEM’s Engineering, Quality, and Production functions on assigned programs; evaluate APQP data from Engineering and discuss, at a technical level, engineering and quality issues with OEM customer; evaluate designs to ensure highest quality/lowest cost for material selection and process definition (wire mesh, stainless steel tubing, insulation materials, tube manipulation, canning, tooling, equipment, and gauge design) so that critical pricing targets are met; evaluate manufacturing processes of welding lines, canning and exhaust assemblies.
Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering (or foreign equivalent degree). Minimum experience required: 2 years’ experience in a quality engineering, product manufacturing engineering, or warranty engineering position, or combination, working on vehicle emissions systems programs. Special skills required: Must have 2 years’ work experience in each of the following: leading four-phase PPAP process for OEM vehicle emissions program, and coordinating acquisition of technical PPAP data and presenting to OEM customer for approval; evaluating quality of weld lines, canning, and exhaust assemblies, and quality of tooling, equipment, and gauges; optimizing canning and assembly processes for emissions systems production; conducting equipment and gauges run-off for launch of vehicle emissions systems production; leading on-site root cause evaluation of plant manufacturing processes and warranty claims for vehicle emissions control systems components; validating production line tooling output for vehicle emissions systems programs; performing 8D and DMAIC analyses for warranty claims.
