Our Faurecia Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Systems Engineer - Emissions Test and Method Development for its Technical Center at Columbus, IN.



- To develop simulation and test methodology for development of CVE Aftertreatment products

- To develop test methodologies and facilities for emission and SCR research and development

- To research, develop, design and test new, innovative products, as well as to refine system/component functional specifications




The position is responsible for the support of emissions systems and SCR product developments in Innovation or application.  He/she will be responsible for developing test facilities and methods for activities related to emissions and SCR research and development within project timescales


Specific responsibilities are

     Develop 0D/1D simulation models

o    Perform exhaust architecture pre-design

o    Develop Exhaust system model for system integration and validation

o    Model heat transfer, flow, chemical kinetics for different catalysts and calibrate the models

o    Research on ATS architectures to meet GHG Phase 2 and Ultraw low NOx emission regulations

o    Identify solutions presented in publications and perform what If studies of ATS architectures for thermal and emission performance

     Development of test facilities and testing tools for emissions / SCR R&D within Faurecia’s Tools Development Program management system

o    Identification and procurement of suitable test equipment

o    Support SCR product development by coordinating work in engine test cells, including writing test requests, working with the testing team to help schedule tests, providing day to day instruction to test operators, and collecting data during testing.

o    Work with testing team to implement and validate test equipment and facilities

     Support emissions / SCR product development activities:

o    Coordinate and request CAE simulation analysis work to guide the design

o    Process and interpret  test or analysis data to guide aftertreatment system design 

o    Provide design recommendations to the program team to enable the correct performance to be delivered

o    Generate reports / presentations compiling test or analysis results.

o    identify and solve root cause of complex problems

o    Develop and document standard working practices

     Interface and work closely with emissions specialists in our global R & D teams to share knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills and Competencies)

Bachelors or Master Degree in Mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines

Demonstrable understanding of Engines, emissions, worldwide Emission regulations, systems engineering, catalysis, 0D/1D ATS modeling

Knowledge of industrial standards for ATS performance and emission testing

2 - 5 years experience with 1D ATS simulations, Emission test equipment and interfaces

Ability to manage work within a project management system

Functions of combustion engines & exhaust systems

Knowledge of data analytics and its application in engineering

Spoken and written English communication.



Software :

Expertise in 1D tools like GT Power, Simulink, AVL suite, labview, AMESIM

Experience with using Optimization tools Heeds, modefrontier, iSight

Programming languages: Python, Matlab

Knowledge of High Performance computing

MS-office applications

Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning

Must have International mind set, ability to work with international customers.

Should have the ability to present analysis results effectively.

outgoing, open-minded and a good team player

work independently and systematically, with a good eye for the detail
