Your position and environment?


Our Faurecia Automotive Seating Business Group – R&D Division is looking for you as a VIE Test Engineer m/f for our R&D Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, United States.

Your role and responsibilities?


Conducts tests in support of Faurecia Programs following standard methods. Designs tests and provides technical assistance in the areas of design, prototype build, test set-up and controller programming.  Ensures equipment is in working order and coordinates calibration for all equipment / gages.

Your main missions will be to

  • Contributes to the reliable evaluation of product design, by operating test equipment.
  • Maintains records, analyzes data and reports test results.
  • Facilitates testing requirements by devising, sketching and making fixtures, assisting in the design of the test and development of test equipment, setting up and operating said test equipment.
  • Contributes to maintaining the test lab by performing maintenance, repairing test equipment, making small tools, recommends purchase of tools, equipment and shop supplies.
  • Coordinates calibration of all equipment and gages to comply with TS requirements (US technical specification).
  • Ensures that all appropriate safety measures and practices are followed to prevent injury to self and others according to the company and government regulations.
  • Organizes self to complete tasks to maintain project schedule.
  • Maintains knowledge of and complies with applicable TS 16949 Standards, Faurecia Business Systems and Lab Manuals.
  • Be able to set up tests, perform seat testing (Faurecia will support training on all equipment).
  • Be able to program controllers and equipment. (LabVIEW programming is a bonus). Basic understanding of ladder logic/ LabVIEW a bonus)
  • Execute tests based on the machine and TS procedures as well as the polyvalence rating system.
  • Improve procedures for the test methods and testing equipment if required.

  The mission will last 12 months. 

Who are you?

  • Master’s degree/Engineering diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering
  • Fluent in English
  • First experience in similar or relevant role
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with engineering, customers, and test technicians.
  • Must be able to assist technicians in procedures and machine usage (Faurecia will support training on all equipment).
  • Computer skills – Microsoft office
  • Power and manual durability seat testing (experience a bonus)
  • Environmental chambers (experience a bonus)
  • Fatigue testing(experience a bonus)
  • Static pull testing (experience a bonus)
  • Good understanding of transducers and load cells
  • Fabrication (experience a bonus)
  • LabVIEW (experience a bonus)
