Position Summary: The Acquisition Controller provides projections and accounting services to the acquisition team. He or She prepares business plans, and guides staff towards the execution of the best financial performance. He or She participates to acquisition strategy as a business partner of the acquisition team.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer requests (explicit and implicit) and Faurecia market positioning (customer targets, technology requested, target price, Faurecia competitive advantage).
  • Participate to acquisition commercial strategy (e.g.: price, giveback, …) and support the commercial offer according to Faurecia standards.
  • Coordinate cross functional teams to gather all cost inputs. The Acquisition Controller must develop a network across countries and organizations (inside and outside NAO), identify the best partners able to provide cost inputs and able to support activity overflow.
  • Understand Faurecia’s cost estimation systems and practices, and bridge variances from one quote to another in liaise with the Cost Engineers, Buyers, Product Engineers and Acquisition Managers.
  • Drive financial indicators, advice Acquisition Managers and alert management on any R&O (Risks and Opportunities) taken, so the acquisition team can make comprehensive decisions within the limit of the hypotheses available at the time of the acquisition.
  • Prepare BPs (Business Plans) to be approved by management, and provide a list of associated R&O. When an acquisition is gained, the Acquisition Controller needs to coordinate the acquisition team on financial topics until formal managerial validation of the Initial BP and prepare the transfer to the program development controlling team.

 

Implied Responsibilities:

  • Keep track of new developments, get trained and employ new technologies.
  • Obey to Faurecia standards. This refers to:
    • Developing and ensuring proper documentation, including secrecy.
    • Set goals and working standards for the department and regularly communicate with staff members on progress and problems
    • Define and pursue the internal procedures
  • The employee is responsible for conducting his/her job within the ISO 9001 standards.
  • All program-related duties need to be accomplished within the requirements of the Faurecia Program Management System.
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site.

Position Specifications

Authorities:

  • Negotiates the elements of the offer with the purchasing department within the limits defined in the contract review and the RFQA, records all the agreements with the customer and updates the contractual documentation
  • Validates the prices proposed, their break down and the impact of price changes, give-backs on the profitability of the business.
  • Alert on the risks of business operations and customer offers
  • Lead team to complete cost roll up and business plan
  • Challenge inputs from team to find optimal process and price
  • Hold the releases of Business Plans and quotes for lack of information or if it endangers the company

 

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Fluent in English and if necessary, in the Customer language
  • Good technical knowledge of the considered product (serial production, product plan and innovations)
  • Knowledge of Acquisition process management and Customer relationship management
  • Comfortable with financials
  • Good written and oral communication presentation skills
  • Business international mindset
  • Accountable and results oriented – Get the things done
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Team player and ability to work in a matrix organization and to interface with several hierarchical levels

 

Education / Experience:

  • Business Master’s Degree or Engineering Degree 
  • Willingness to develop a career path in business
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience
  • Previous experience in program management is an advantage
