Our Faurecia Interiors Division is looking for a purchasing controlling intern for its Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Consolidating and analyzing financial data, taking into account company's goals and financial standards as Actuals/Forecast/Budget.
  • Run PAP (purchasing action plan) extracts
    • Weekly and on request
    • For forecast preparation by consolidating volume information for forecast and updating based on flexing PAP with updated actions and volumes
  • Month end responsibilities:  extract from consolidated BI tool the purchasing receipts for plants in our score and review consistency of the data/ validate recurring savings with support of buyers/ plant controllers as needed, validate all rebates to ensure savings reported are consistent with our forecast/ budget and with what is consolidated in our P&L statements
  • Interact with finance division, plants, business groups to provide comments/ analysis
  • Explain the variances in our actual vs our forecast/ budget
  • Validate purchasing master data (commodity, purchase types…) and report consolidated month end reports to our management and business group
  • Assist in request for price change reviews thru electronic workflow
  • Ensure all reporting is consistent with Oracle Magritte consolidation Group tool for Actual, budget and Strategic plans by working with the plant controllers, purchasing and customer business units team
  • Work with cash controlling team and business partners to optimize our company cash thru supplier management (payment terms, consignment inventory in the plant, factoring programs…)
  • Report any exceptional impacts from suppliers especially linked to customer directed ones so we can establish claims to customer with appropriate information.
  • Support specific projects thru the year working with cross functional teams
  • Understand the economical impacts of both purchasing and sales variances to be able to explain / comment.


The ideal candidate will have/be:


  • Working towards degree in business, accounting, or finance
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization
  • Minimum GPA 3.5
  • Strong Interpersonal and Team Skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft excel and office.
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Proficient level of English
  • Being able to work remotely
