Position Summary: The Quality Improvement Coordinator will manage Six Sigma projects to reduce variation of product quality and processes in development or production phase.  He/She will support any continuous improvement activities leading to customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • All Six Sigma projects shall be developed, documented, and implemented according to IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements
  • If requested, present Six Sigma project to customer or auditors (IATF, FES, S&R,) to demonstrate product/process conformance or continuous improvement activities
  • Develop and lead projects in plants with clear objectives to reduce process variation, scrap, and improve product quality:
    • Lead cross-functional teams in project execution and ensure project scope and objectives are clearly defined
    • Prepare detailed project assessment, and manage project risk taking as a basis their economical and customer impact preferably
    • Maintain dashboard summary of projects and report progress regularly to appropriate leadership levels
    • Solicit help from the champion, experts and management when needed
    • Ensure that corrective actions and improvement results are validated and sustained using PDCA approach
  • Systematically deploy DMAIC methodology:
    • Determine and apply the most effective tools for each case
    • Act as an expert and provide formal training of local employees in methods and tools (example: Green belt training)
    • Be method and tools enthusiast and act as a coach by providing one-to-one support to regional plant quality teams
  • Lead management reviews for the identification and implementation of projects:
    • Identify top issues and opportunities for improvement, and prioritize key projects
    • Quantify project deliverables, timing objectives and key success factors 
    • Find transversalisation opportunities, internally in other lines or plants and externally in suppliers
    • Identify barriers and required actions to remove
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Position Specifications

Authorities:

  • Request to correct a process in case a quality requirement is not met (ISO-9001, IATF-16949, customer requirements, S&R, QSE, etc.). Correction must be requested immediately to GAP Leader / Supervisor upon observance of S&R non-compliance
  • Decide on test or measurement conformance based on pre-defined test methods and specification requirements
  • Decide on appropriate data analysis and variation reduction method according to the situation at hand
  • Has the authorization to approve purchases with corporate credit card

 

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and methods (ISO-9001, IATF-16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of:
    • OEM specific quality requirements
    • Company’s products and technologies
    • Faurecia Management System and Quality Basics
  • Skilled in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, scrap and waste identification and reduction, standardized work and ergonomic requirements
  • Autonomy and Leadership mindset
  • Capability to build and manage network
  • Best practice sharing and improvement mindset
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Understand the group functional organization
  • Proficient level of English

 

Education / Experience:

  • Minimum education level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering is desired. If the candidate has less than a Bachelor’s degree, the minimum proven experience in the Automotive industry should be 7-10 years
  • 3 years of proven Quality function experience in the Automotive industry

Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt level preferred
