Position Summary: The Product Safety & Regulatory Manager is responsible for deploying company quality systems, tools and methods related to Product Safety and Regulatory requirements while also ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency with a Zero-defect mindset.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and conduct Product Safety & Regulatory training in plants and Tech Centers
  • Collect Product Safety & Regulatory audit reports and help resolving identified gaps with the process owners
  • Lookout any IATF-16949, customer, statutory or regulatory requirements update related to Product Safety & Regulatory, analyze the impact of the change and communicate accordingly
  • Work with product and process expert network to define key characteristics and the methods to control those
  • Support all FIS NAO entities in any investigation of Product Safety & Regulatory non-compliance and its resolution
  • Coordinate any customer requests for special audits
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Position Specifications

Authorities:

  • Review and approve the effectiveness and efficiency of quality systems, tools and methods used in development phase to ensure product integrity.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct internal Safety & Regulatory audits to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the related systems, tools and methods, in development phase and serial life
  • Stop production in case of observed situation jeopardizing product integrity or personnel safety, report it and request immediate remediation
  • Approve temporary deviation until the issue is resolved, if applicable
  • Oversee and validate plant Safety & Regulatory Coordinator’s qualification
  • Authorization to approve purchases with corporate credit card

 

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Well versed in all automotive quality standards and methods:
    • Statutory and regulatory requirements (FMVSS, ECE, EEC, CCC, etc.)
    • Quality audit requirements (ISO-9001, IATF-16949, VDA 6.3)
    • APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.
    • OEM specific quality requirements
    • OEM product integrity specifications requirements
    • Company’s products and technologies
    • Faurecia Management System and Quality Basics
  • ​​​​​​​Certified VDA Product Safety & Conformity Representative
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Autonomy
  • Capability to build and manage network
  • Best practice sharing and improvement mindset
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Fluent in English. Second language welcome (Spanish, French or German)

 

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) is desired. If the candidate has less than a Bachelor’s degree, the minimum proven experience in the Automotive industry should be 10-12 years.
  • 6-8 years of proven Quality function experience in the Automotive industry. For new comers, a mentor should be nominated
