Position Summary: Deploys the purchasing policy and strategy, within the guidelines defined by the purchasing VP.



  • Leads Division Program Buyer team to guarantee program purchasing performance (cost, quality, timing)
  • Defines and follows plant purchasing objectives
  • Drives the deployment of the purchasing policy and processes in the plants in order to achieve quality/cost/delivery objectives in coordination with plant managers
  • Leads specific Commodity Buyers team in order to define the related supplier panel, the commodity purchasing policy and leads global negotiations for the entire IS Business Group
  • Leads tooling buyers to guarantee day-to-day successful development of the toolings necessary on programs for division
  • Ensures efficient roll-out of purchasing best practices
  • Defines the purchasing policy and strategy for Tools across IS Divisions, within the guidelines defined by the purchasing VP and in coordination with the Industrial Engineering department
  • Leads sourcing initiatives with his Commodity Buyer team to ensure purchasing cost optimization for Tools across IS Business Group (supplier panel, purchasing policy, costing analysis, coordination with Tier 2 suppliers, global negotiations)
  • Supports tooling development follow-up on programs
  • Ensures efficient roll-out of purchasing best practices
  • The supervisory responsibilities include interviewing and hiring new employees, conducting performance reviews, planning and directing work, discipline employees, guiding and supporting employees in their professional development and other leadership responsibilities.
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site
  • Support the leadership and commitment from top management according to the NAO environmental policy and ISO 14001.

Position Specifications

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of Spanish, German or French will be a plus.
  • The performance needs to be in accordance with the Faurecia core, manager and director competencies.


Education / Experience:

  • BS and/or equivalent experience (8 to 10 years) with successful experience managing purchasing or manufacturing plastic parts for the automotive industry.
