We’re hiring a Compounds Product Line Manager in our BRAND NEW MATERI’ACT division in Auburn Hills, MI.

Our MATERI’ACT Division is looking for a Compounds Product Line Manager to manage the life cycle of a sustainable compounds portfolio for the designated area (EUR, NAO or China), connecting supply and market demand, and delivering ready-to-sell products to the Sales organization. He/She will maximize the return to the newly formed MATERI’ACT Division. The incumbent will operate in constant interaction with R&D, Sales, Finance, Marketing and Manufacturing stakeholders. Acting as the business owner, he/she will impact the MATERI’ACT profitability by defining the most valuable strategic priorities while ensuring the appropriate tactics are smoothly executed.



You’ll work on challenges that matter

This job will require you to:

  • Own price/volume decisions and equip the Sales team with appropriate negotiation parameters, also supporting complex contract negotiations
  • Provide accurate and timely estimates/forecasts for MATERI’ACT financial consolidation
  • Understand competitive environment, cost drivers, raw materials, make vs. buy scenarios
  • Consolidate market supply/demand dynamics for the relevant compounds to drive alignment with the customer facing teams
  • Steer product line innovation
  • Align asset capabilities to deliver on customer needs as per Sales and Marketing input
  • Drives opportunity assessment, prioritization and business case investment justification including partnership with purchasing, external manufacturing and engineering on asset strategy/investments enabling growth/expansions/optimization
  • Provides leadership with the Compounds industry players (trade associations, conferences, etc.)



The ideal candidate

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering, Chemistry, Marketing, Business or Economics
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in combination of Sales, Marketing or Product Management roles in the Polymer industry, ideally in Automotive sector
  • Fluent in English
  • Well-rounded individual with strong communication, analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Builds excellent relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Team player- ability to work and lead in a matrix organization
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Focuses on both the short-term results and long-term goals
  • Successfully manages through ambiguous situations
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to influence actions, individuals, and results- “Get things done”
