Faurecia Automotive Seating, LLC, a Tier-1 supplier of automotive seating systems, seeks a Program Manager (Asian Accounts) in Auburn Hills, Michigan, to develop automotive complete seat and seat component programs, from acquisition to serial manufacture. National and international travel to manufacturing plants and customer sites 35%.  Duties: plan and direct all program activities (profit and loss, engineering development, procurement, industrialization, and launch management) in coordination with personnel from Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations; liaise with internal and external program stakeholders; provide direction to program core team on industrialization, tooling design and construction, cost estimating, and launch for programs with international development activities and customer requirements; consider make/buy analysis, supplier technologies, geographical location, and cost methodologies to formulate supplier, technology, and process strategies, anticipate requirements for multi-million-dollar programs, minimize disruption in supply chain, and maximize profitability; develop supplier, technology, process, and sales strategies through the evaluation of make/buy analyses, supplier technologies, supplier geographical location, and monozukuri cost proposals, to anticipate specific requirements for seating programs; initiate and plan production tooling, set targets for prototype and production tooling pricing, and work with purchasing to ensure pricing targets are met; analyze product designs for feasibility, cost, and strategic business planning; lead Technical Value Optimization workshops to analyze, prioritize and implement cost reductions; identify and recommend product and process standardization to improve profitability; negotiate pricing and terms and conditions (design, footprint, and process changes) with customers.  Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business, or foreign equivalent degree, and 2 years’ experience in a product management position with a Tier-1 supplier of automotive seating systems and components.  Required skills:  Must have 2 years’ of work experience in each of the following: reviewing, validating, and implementing design for assembly to ensure product manufacturability; leading design change analysis and recommending best economical solutions to meet customer specifications; developing a multi-stage program plan for Asian automotive seating programs; performing risk assessment evaluations for Asian automotive seating programs to implement quick decisions; recommending monozukuri cost reduction methodologies to improve business case analyses for automotive seating programs; coordinating design and product reviews with customer; leading joint-check activities at OEM automotive plants to solve quality issues; evaluating product design and performance for seating components (frames, headrests, side air bags, tracks) and assemblies; negotiating engineering design and development with customer.
