Title:                   Purchasing Logistics Commodity buyer

Reports To:            Purchasing Logistics Commodity Director


Essential responsibilities and duties

The Division/Region Commodity buyer is responsible for structuring the supplier panel for Transport Commodity across all Road Modes within Faurecia regional perimeter. The role of the Purchasing Logistics Commodity buyer is to deploy commodity strategies, to ensure utilization of supplier panel across multiple Business Groups and pilot the overall productivity of the panel. He/she is responsible for purchasing budget achievement for its perimeter.


The Purchasing Logistics Commodity buyer must understand all aspects of logistics procurement including contracting, negotiating levers, category strategy, supplier relationship management and business continuity management used by suppliers. Subject matter expertise in logistics market intelligence and supplier pricing strategies will also be valuable.


Criteria: Responsible for transport commodity that includes simple and complex flows from management point of view:


The main missions of the role are:

    • Deploy within the Division/Region the Group purchasing strategy and panel construction
    • In-depth understanding of best-in-class procurement practices including extensive end-to-end experience in Sourcing processes, Negotiations, Supplier Analysis, Industry Analysis and RFQs expertise
    • Pilot supplier selection & panel management
    •  Develop and implement tools to improve regional productivity (LCC, e-sourcing, value analysis…)
    •  Manage relationship / negotiation with suppliers
    •  Manage intercompany relationship with internal groups such as Operations, Finance, Purchasing, and others across multiple business groups
    •  Negotiate general agreements with suppliers
    •  Supervises supplier evaluation and evolution
    •  Lead the supplier performance follow up
    •  Implement consistent supplier reduction plans
    •  Manage and drive purchasing productivity action plans, fix the rules of Productivity sharing between the suppliers and Faurecia, and insure productivities are reported properly into the P&L of each Business Group
    • Implement volume base agreements with all Pilot panel
    •  Consolidate and follow budget achievements
    •  Manage insolvencies/risks of suppliers and steer corrective action plan






















The ideal candidate will have/be :


Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business.


Nice to have: Professional Purchasing Qualification specialized in Supply Chain Logistics


Experience :

    • Minimum 5 to 8 years experience in Purchasing in an industrial environment, working directly with logistics or supply chain suppliers. Experience working with LTL, Truckload, 3PL, and couriers suppliers.


Skills and competencies:  

    • Knowledge of supply portfolio and market research and analysis
    • Understanding of sourcing strategies and application (Gap to Target and Gap to Benchmark)
    • Good understanding of business practices, market dynamics and trends.
    •  Knowledge of contractual and legal aspects
    •  Financial skills
    •  English fluent is a must, other llanguage appreciated
    •  International minded
    • Execmpary Negotiation and interpersonal skills in a robust and large corporate procurement environment
    •  Influencing & Management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships across multiple organizations and with vendors at the highest levels.
    • Self driven and motivated to create value across the organization

    • Automotive Industry experience
