Essential responsibilities and duties
The Program Quality Leader is a member of the Program Core Team. She/He has overall responsibility for the achievement of quality deliverables from design until the start of production & successful launch. The PQL Represents the Customer Voice within the company and ensures leadership when needed towards the customer and internally with the others functions on quality matters. Total Customer Satisfaction is the overall goal.
The main missions of the Program Quality Leader are as follows:

  • Ensure Quality all along program phases, successful launch and plant hand-over.
  • Ensure alignment of Customer milestones (APQP) and on-time delivery of his/her related PMS work packages and QFM per program phases.
  • Achieve Quality objectives defined during Innovation- SOW, cascade them to internal and external suppliers (via ASQ or purchasing organisation) and follow them till gate review 4 (ex: Target Convergence Plan).
  • Participate to Validation Plan(s) definition together with R&D
  • Review & validate every new process linked with his/her product family (e.g. through PQA & PSR).
  • Animate FMEAs / Capitalize and transversalize improvements of different projects
  • Review or establish full documentation package (FMEA, KPC list, Control plan…) on their product family and verify its good application WW.
  • Apply QRCI-8D method in case of issue.
  • Lead customer audits and prioritize customer prompt response
  • Deploy APQP with suppliers and ensure quality of their components along the program


Related axis of work:

  • Coordinate the Program Quality function for a local or global program between several regions or Product Lines of the Division:
  • ensure capitalization of experience from previous programs
  • ensure that best practices are shared within regions about Program Management System (PMS) deliverables, Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), product quality issues, lessons learned, shop-floor solutions, Bought Part issues with potential impacts on the customer, etc…
  •  Arbitrate issues about Design Validation Plan and specifications for Measurement devices 
  • collaborate with other Quality Leaders (weekly review)
  • Report regional (or Product Line) quality status to the Program Manager
  • Coordinate the Program Quality function in accordance with the Customer Specific Requirements (Porsche, VW, RSA…) 
  • Actively support Supplier Quality activities
  • Cross-check new supplier conformance 
  • APQP Deployment, tracking, closing, including PMS workpackages
  • Secure supplier planning vs program milestones
  • Challenge supplier’s 8Ds
  • Follow convergence plan with suppliers and triggers escalation to purchasing management in case of major risk and customer impact
  • Focus on specific critical items managed by other Program Core Team functions to ensure a successful launch and customer satisfaction:
  •  Design validation Plan : Analyse consistency, and possibility to use tests results from other regions
  • Failure Mode Analysis s and Control Plan: Ensure alignment and best practice sharing
  • Appearance or Subjective Quality Approval: Ensure that the very first customer approval for appearance is available 
  • Perceived Quality: Coordinate understanding about internal quality issues and customer expectations vs complaints 
  • Convergence Plans: Support convergence planning and ensure overall coordination and follow up
  • Process Robustness: Ensure alignment about Key Control Characteristics, Poka Yoke, Standard Work, Process Capabilities.
  • Risk Assessment: Manage the risk assessment process with a focus on Poka Yoke, Final Inspection and Temporary Quality Wall
  • Global Alignment: Manage regular reviews with other PQLs to ensure alignment and best practice sharing 


The ideal candidate will have/be:
o    Minimum education level: Master's degree in engineering (or Engineering diploma) on industrial, electronic, mechanical ; Quality specialization is an advantage. 
o    Language: English Fluent mandatory, French fluent, German fluent is desirable & other language is an advantage.
o    Certifications are an advantage: IATF auditor, VDA auditor, Six sigma, A-SPICE capabilities…
o    Knowledge of automotive seating, pneumatic systems, and electronics is an advantage.
o    Willingness to travel around 40% of the time (within Europe mainly)


o    Minimum 4 years of proven experience in the Automotive industry. (Minimum 2 different positions, such as Quality Engineer, Process Engineer…).
o    Proven experience managing customer requirements and professional contact
o    Proven experience in program development and/or product launches
o    Automotive embedded electronics knowledge is an advantage.
o    Experience in Quality within electronics, software or sound components will be an advantage for the job


Skills and competencies
o    Practitioner about Quality tools: Functional analysis, FMEA, Special Characteristics, reliability, problem solving, variability reduction, etc
o    Familiar with Customer Development Process
o    Familiar with Program Management System.
o    Good knowledge about Faurecia Excellence System and Quality System Efficiency, would be appreciated.
o    Supplier management experience will be an advantage
o    Leadership and autonomy.
o    Team player with strong communication skills.
o    Management abilities in a matrix environment.
o    International mind-set.
