Main duties and responsibilities


The commodity buyer is responsible for deploying the commodity strategy for its assigned commodities. The role of the Commodity Buyer is to manage commercial relationship with suppliers, pilot the utilization of supplier panel in programs and series production during sourcing, and ensure supplier performance.


    • Participate to the definition of the commodity strategy for its scope and the resulting target panel. Implement the purchasing panel policy for assigned commodities
    • Execute target panel and manage phase out roadmap. Ensure that the strategic panel is implemented in the Development phase (Supplier Nomination Committees)
    • Capture supplier innovation and organize supplier tech day
    • Ensure that target panel meets Faurecia CO2 Roadmap
    • Contribute to product Cost modelization and negotiate resulting gap to target
    • Manage negotiation with his/her suppliers
    • Manage and drive productivity action plans. Fix the rules of productivity sharing between the suppliers and Faurecia
    • Manage and drive supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance
    • Manage insolvencies of suppliers and steer corrective action plan


Qualifications and skills


  • Master/Engineering degree specialized Purchasing Qualification 
    • Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing in an industrial environment (serial life or program) 
    • Experience in covering materials a plus
    • Experience of successfully managing and negotiating contracts
    • Automotive experience would be an advantage


Skills and competencies :  


    • Strong Knowledge of supply portfolio and market research and analysis 
    • Deep understanding of business practices, market dynamics and trends
    • Knowledge of contractual and legal aspects
    • Autonomus
    • English fluent
    • International minded
    • Financial skills
