We’re hiring an Engineering Manager

Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for an engineering manager for its manufacturing facility in Columbus, IN to join our team.

 

 

You’ll work on challenges that matter

This job will require you to

 

  • Responsible for the work packages execution for the Industrial Development of the Program at the Plant: industrial footprint, Plant equipment selection (new / reuse / share), Plant layout, MIFD / MIFA, industrial trials.
  • Responsible for the launch planning and budget from definition till execution 
  • Participate in the development of Make or Buy strategy in accordance with Purchasing, Program and Plant(s)
  • Starting from phase 3, be responsible for HSE and ergonomic convergence in the Plant
  • Define the Industrial Development support team required resources in terms of workload, competencies and profiles
  • Manage the Industrial Development support team to ensure Industrial Development and Plant launch readiness by conducting reviews, assigning tasks, driving accountability and preparing launch related staffing and training plans
  • Managing ME networks and Team
  • Secure know-how transfer to team and ME in plants as well as cross-fertilization and knowledge database improvement.

 

PROCESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Approval of the following Process Development activities upstream:
    • HSE and ergonomic convergence until GR2b
  • Monitoring and managing capacity and related investments
  • Supporting operations in Matching QCD objectives
  • Propose division industrial plans to optimize footprint and equipment utilization
  • Building and managing investment, tooling and manufacturing engineering budgets
  • Track machines and equpiment workload acording to cutomers demand
  • Manage productivity workshops and participate to continuous improvement processes in plants
  • Prepare and propose process innovations.  Drive process when allocated to the Division.
  • Evaluate the perfromance of the team and propose improvement plans

 

PRODUCTION LAUNCH

  • Management of launch activities at the Plant:
  • Complete the Industrial Development support team with required resources (internal / external) in terms of workload, competencies and profiles
  • Liaise with UAPs and PC&Ls to plan production related runs / trials
  • Coordinate the installation and launch of production equipment and tooling
  • Support the production during the ramp-up after the handover

 

TARGETS AND REPORTING

  • Leadership for all Industrial Development Program objectives at the Plant:
  • The IPM performance is evaluated based on Program Launch Report, Launch Cost and Status, respect of CAPEX, scrap rate, PPM, …
  • Ensure the Industrial Development milestones are passed successfully and on time
  • Support operations in achieving QCD objectives during series production
  • Consolidate and report ME key indicators of the plants and propose action plans

 

 

The ideal candidate

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years + production experience
  • Program Management experience
  • Management and Leadership experience
