What This Role is All About:

Support engineering & innovation product development and validation. Apply engineering fundamentals and standards methodology to instrumentation, testing, and measurements of the product and/or test sample. This is a 3rd shift (Monday-Friday 11:30pm - 7:30am) technician role. 


What You Will Do:

  • Communicate with customers (internal & external) as needed to ensure effective & efficient completion of testing objectives.
  • Complete work request on-time and assist supervisor in maintaining accurate work order status.
  • Fabricate test fixtures as needed to support testing functions.
  • Instrument test fixtures, commercia & light vehicle after-treatment devices, and/or components necessary to fulfill the customer’s requirements according to applicable standard methods or work requests.
  • Operation, maintenance, calibration, & ensuring data quality for dynamometer engine test cells.
  • Operation, maintenance, calibration, & ensuring data quality for various emissions measurement analyzers, FTIR’s, smoke meters, & mass spectrometers.
  • Support continuous improvement through workplace organization, process improvement and technology improvement.
  • Comply with total quality (TS16949) and environmental (ISO14001) systems.
  • Maintain an organized work environment per company policy.
  • Apply HSE & 5S in everyday work activities per company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What You Will Bring to the Company:

  • BASIC: Knowledge of Diesel/SI engine basics, test equipment and electronics. 
  • SKILLS: Proficient oral & written communicator, effective problem solving, mechanical & electrical aptitude, and entrepreneurial work ethic.
  • PRIMARY KNOWLEDGE:  Test and measurement equipment knowledge, automotive/commercial vehicle mechanical/electrical fundamentals.  Computer skill sets – Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Windows-based software. 
  • SECONDARY KNOWLEDGE: Welding & fabrication, schematic interpretation. Strong communication (written and oral) skills.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical  Engineering is preferred –OR- 2 years work experience in testing or measurement.
