We’re hiring a Controls Engineer

Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Controls Engineer in Columbus, IN, to provide controls/electrical engineering support in the plants through trouble shooting and problem solving to eliminate down time and decrease quality defects to the customer.



You’ll work on challenges that matter

This job will require you to

  • Provide Controls engineering support Division wide for controls / Mfg. Eng.
  • Provide support to the maintenance departments in escalation scenarios in equipment trouble shooting to reduce / eliminate downtime.
  • Review processes and procedures on an on-going basis for safety, process efficiency and standards deployment
  • Train/Coach Controls Tech. in Troubleshooting Methodology and Key Competences
  • Coordinate with Plant Teams to minimize down-time.
  • Provide justification for standards changes
  • Providing Training and Training material for key competencies related to Controls and Automation
  • Troubleshoot and address root cause of various issues primarily associated with PLC based systems
  • Stay informed of quality issues and opportunities as relates to position and/or department. Follow procedures and corrective action assignments as required to eliminate or reduce waste
  • Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned by management


The ideal candidate

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or Technical discipline; or, minimum 5 years previous experience as Controls Engineer
  • Allen Bradley software / programming is a must
  • Experience Integrating PLC to work with various I/O and hardware devices (Servo Motors, Remote I/O etc.) is a must
  • Controller area network proficiency I.E. Ethernet IP, IOLink
  • Equipment and Automation integration experience
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc/Motoman systems is a required, or be able to obtain proficiency
  • Siemens programming is a bonus
  • Excellent communications skills – prompt response when requested (knowing when response is not necessary without direction)
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
  • Read, analyze and create electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Controls / electrical / pneumatic systems design
