We’re hiring a Plant Quality Engineer


Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Plant Quality Engineer for its manufacturing facility in Columbus, IN to implement process control programs that will assure production of finished goods that meet or exceed customer-specified requirements. They will lead continuous improvements by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and provide data analysis.



You’ll work on challenges that matter


This job will require you to:


  • Conduct multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from feasibility phase to post launch quality assessment and throughout production life; reduces PPM, Scrap and overall Cost of Quality KPI’s
  • Facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with Engineering in conjunction with advanced quality-planning activities and monitor the status throughout production life
  • Develop, implement and maintain Statistical Process Control techniques
  • Assure compliance of the documented quality system (ISO/TS16949 or IATF16949) and promote consistency throughout the organization
  • Conduct investigations to determine causes of defects, make recommendations for corrective action
  • Maintain customer complaint log and facilitate and participate in the corrective action process
  • Instruct and train personnel in techniques including Seven Quality Basics and use of audit and testing devices
  • Monitor and revise quality documentation as required
  • Visit customers and suppliers when necessary
  • Act as a liaison to internal and external customers
  • Review all production methods for compliance to quality standards and for improvement of product and quality standards
  • Perform all responsibilities with ISO/TS16949 or IATF16949 system requirements
  • Validate gage studies with Mini Tab, leads DOE activities to replicate process/product failures; drives 5-Y and QRCI processes, process capability improvements and GAP specific analysis of variable data




The ideal candidate


To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:


Minimum education level: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering


  • Minimum of two (2) years automotive experience
  • Strong analytical and proven team oriented problem solving-skills required
  • Strong customer satisfaction orientation
  • In-depth knowledge of quality engineering techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of Metrology, GD&T, PPAP/APQP, PFMEA, DOE, Capability & Gage Studies
  • Above average communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
  • Bilingual preferred (English required)
