POSITION SUMMARY:

The Software Support Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality software support for Faurecia Clarion’s customers.  Software Support Engineers deliver effective technical customer support to our automotive manufacturer customers, delivering solutions to both technical and non-technical personnel while also supporting a wide range of technologies.

                                             

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead/Assist technical reviews with customers on software related development issues and engineering change requests. 
  • Track software development issues, update internal teams and customers on progress and resolution.
  • Maintain customer defined documents for software development status.
  • Capture vehicle and/or module data during development using standard or customer specific tools.
  • Perform preliminary issue analysis and evidence gathering to be passed on to development teams worldwide for final resolution.
  • Ability to write tools, scripts, and utilities to assist in debugging, updating, and resolving issues.
  • Be an excellent communicator both verbal and written.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in automotive infotainment systems engineering.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Experience using CAN tools – CANalyzer, CANoe, CAPL, and other related tools.
  • Experience with C/C++, LINUX, and typical Software Development Lifecycles.
  • Familiar with Audio technologies is a strong plus
  • AM, FM, HD, SDARS, RDS-TMC
  • RF Front end processing concepts
  • Inter-processor communications (I2C, UART, SPI, etc.)
  • External device communications (USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.) a plus
