Systems Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:  

The Systems Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality system solutions for Clarion’s customers.  Systems Engineers deliver effective technical system wide support to our automotive manufacturer customers covering hardware, software, and external factors, delivering solutions to both technical and non-technical personnel while also supporting a wide range of technologies.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead/Assist technical reviews with customers on software, hardware, and system integration related development issues or engineering change requests. 
  • Maintain internal development issues log
  • Maintain customer defined documents for product development status
  • Capture vehicle data during development using standard or customer specific tools.
  • Perform preliminary issue analysis to be passed on to Sr. Staff for final resolution.
  • Provide immediate management weekly reports

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in automotive infotainment systems engineering.
  • Experience using CAN tools – CANalyzer, CANoe, or other related tools.
  • Familiar with Audio technologies is a strong plus.
  • AM, FM, HD, SDARS, RDS-TMC
  • RF Front end processing concepts
  • CD/DVD Mechanism operation
  • Inter-processor communications and (I2C, UART, SPI, etc.)

 

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to analyze situations and arrive at a recommendation to resolve. 
  • Good writing skills required.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a busy, fast paced environment. Positive, can-do attitude required. 
  • Ability to handle many tasks at one time. 
  • Work with Manager to trouble shoot and resolve issues.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of jobs in an office setting.  Position involves sitting and standing most of the time, with walking required frequently. Position requires ability to exert minimal force of up to 10 pounds frequently and minimal force of up to 40 pounds to carry, lift, push, pull and otherwise move objects occasionally.  (Example: filing, sorting of papers, putting away office supplies, lifting notebook binder, etc.)  Have physical ability to sustain movements, especially of fingers, wrists, hands, and arms (Example:  Creating documents/entering data via typing, which requires operation of full keyboard).  Good hearing, vision and

Hand-eye coordination are a plus.  Additional activity may include, dependent on the position and business needs, travel, both by air and car.
