UAP and Engineering Manager

The role of an Autonomous Production Unit (UAP) and Manufacturing Engineering Manager is to manage the effective continuous improvement of day to day operations alongside integration of new product integration within the UAP and ME Teams.  This requires management of both the technical processes and HR issues for team members whilst ensuring all process systems and procedures in the Plant are efficient, effective and safe in line with the Faurecia Excellence System and in compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation. 

 

The main mission of the role are to:

  • Manage the UAP and ME teams, including maintenance: assure appropriate staffing, maintain working environment according to Group Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards , detect and advise training needs, share information (transparency), participate in career management initiatives, etc
  • Serve as official plant representative to the customer: meet established customer specifications concerning cycle time, delivery, quality, quantity and costs; implement preventative and corrective measures in the production process to assure that customer demands are properly met; coordinate with client's quality team to meet all customer standards
  • Follow production plans, as well as Group standard processes; assure feasibility of production plans.
  • Achieve financial targets: prepare and present the UAP and ME budgets; manage the actual production costs based on "ideal" costs; maintain product margin, and monitor serial productivity (labor level, material consumption, etc.)
  • Maintain dashboard indicato/status reports to monitor lead time, supply-chain targets, HSE performance, etc. and implement action plans in order to improve functionality/productivity and to obtain program and Group objectives; make necessary corrective adjustments
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process and equipment in line with FES principles
  • Establish and maintain PFMEA documentation and operator description sheets
  • Maintenance and reviewing of standard assembly times
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities meet legal, corporate and plant requirements for HSE, UAP and ME
  • Assist to ensure that the plant manufacturing processes including material flows achieve efficiency in line with plant objectives
  • Ensure projects are delivered within the time scale, budget and agreed planning parameters
  • Provide a leading role in the management of change within the plant in order to promote and develop a continuous improvement culture
  • Ensure timely review and execution of improvement ideas
  • Lead in the procurement, installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Utilise problem solving methods and technical skills to provide support for day to day issue resolution
  • Ensure appropriate process based risk assessments and ergonomic studies are undertaken to ensure health and safety within all areas of the process
  • Cost reduction- help with group activities with the use of techniques such as VA/VE to reduce costs and improve profitability
  • Control and management of all cost and budgetary requirements in line with plant objectives
  • Particiapte in design and development of plant manufacturing systems
  • Management of launch and capital budgets
  • Actively participate in installation of all required equipment and tooling in line with HSE and E requirements
  • Liaise with IT department to manage the definition and implementation of relevant supporting system
     
    During the pursuit of all duties the Code of Ethics and Code of Management will be adhered to at all times
     

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Master's degree in engineering with a specialisation in Production
  • At least 5 years of production experience
  • 3-5 years team management experience
  • Operational knowledge of Production methods (Kanban, 5S, Hoshin, TPM, GPAO)
  • Minimum bi-lingual (English required)
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Regulation
