Overall responsibilities and duties:

The Manufacturing/Process Engineer is responsible for providing manufacturing engineering support to assigned UAP (Autonomous Production Unit) and continuous improvement efforts.

 

The main missions of the role are:

 

  • Plan and implement new products and/or changes to the manufacturing process
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to assigned UAP
  • Provide support to Quality Department and UAP Quality Engineer as required
  • Review processes and procedures on an on-going basis for safety, quality, and production efficiency
  • Assist in other UAP support as assigned
  • Participate in Hoshin and Continuous Improvement events as assigned
  • Plan and implement new products and/or changes to the manufacturing process
  • Develop plans in accordance with customer requirements using value analysis, and other techniques including PFMEA and control plans
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts of the company through value analysis, maintaining up to date knowledge of manufacturing/tooling techniques
  • Responsible for any changes to products or equipment from Engineering changes
  • Responsible for final approval and turn over of projects to manufacturing/production
  • Review all production methods for compliance to quality and safety standards and for improvement of product quality standards
  • Develop and implement manufacturing documentation and other operator instructions
  • Prepare documentation, checking equipment planning, designing for floor inspections
  • Train supervisors for in process, and other processes as required

Qualifications:

 

Minimum education level:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (US) or Ingeneria (Mexico)

 

Experience:

 

  • Experience in production in an industrial environment

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive sector
  • Knowledge and experience in Project Management process
  • Knowledge of Production System Efficiency basics
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
  • International mind set
  • Fluent in English
