Quality - Destruct, Cut & Etch Supervisor

The Destruct, Cut & Etch Lead is responsible for performing the role of the customer within the plant to ensure only right quality products go to the final customer.

The main missions of the role are:

• Coach and train the operator/GAP leaders/supervisors on the quality principles of Faurecia and Customer specifics.
• Provide Cut & Etch and Destruct testing to parts using standard work instruction, customer specifications and Faurecia specifications. Become part of an autonomous GAP that employs FES principles to achieve Quality Goals that satisfy the customer.
• Test parts to the frequency that is in the control plan, when there is a weld adjustment, directed by Supervisor or by Quality Manager.
• Submit and Implement Continuous Improvement Ideas according to Plant Target. Utilize I.I. tool to drive continuous improvement in the Quality Lab processes.
• Match weld identification numbers to blueprint data and document information on appropriate forms.
• Use customer or Faurecia specifications to identity OK/NOK welds.
• Perform Cut & Etch and Destruct testing as scheduled by Quality Manager.
• Ensure if a weld fails testing that a weld reaction plan is initiated and subsequent adjustments/parts are tested, and test results are documented correctly.
• Direct/train new personnel in carrying out their duties as required per standardized work, as well as EE/FES principles.
• Use gauges to validate test samples.
• Use all equipment/machines/tools in line with Faurecia safety standards, including PPE. If in doubt about proper functioning of equipment, stop immediately and inform GAP Leaders/ Supervisors/Manager.
• Maintain “5S” throughout the Lab area in accordance with Faurecia standards.
• Use the proper line of communication to solve issues. (GAP Leader--Supervisor--Quality Manager)
• Follow Polyvalence guidelines set by Quality Manager.
• Initiate and participate in QRCI events as it relates to a welding defect.
• Understand and follow the 8 Quality Basics
• Work overtime as mandatory shift obligation.
• Work all Shifts assigned.
• All other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum education level:  Bachelor’s degree (US) in Engineering/ Ingeneria (Mexico)

Experience:

• Experience in production in an industrial environment

Skills & Competencies:

• Experience in production in an industrial environment
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial environment, preferred automotive supplier
• Proven competency in control plans, D/PFMEAs, Process Audits, ISO9001 and ISO/TS 16949, key characteristics management, 8D/ Corrective action plans skills, APQP, MSA, SPC and PPAP
• Experience with OEM specific quality requirements
• Results oriented with strong written and oral communication skills
• Basic skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Proficient in English
