IT Operations teams within EMEA are tackling critical challenges to support plants operations more and more relying on IT solutions. We're looking for an IT infrastructure support specialist (m/f) to be based preferably in Brières les Scellés or Seloncourt (France), Santa Maria da Feira (Portugal) or Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic), in order to support EMEA IT Operations teams located on sites.


Reporting to the Network & Infrastructure Operations EMEA team leader, his/her main role is to support local teams on high skilled technical operations required on their infrastructure : local Network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN, FW), virtual machines and their ESX Hosts, office automation or shopfloor OSes and applications, HA solutions, Backup solutions, monitoring. He/she would support on implement, debug, upgrade, standardize these local IT infrastructure. Relying on agreed internal standards and his expertise, he/she would offer action plans to improve site IT Infrastructure overall availability, resiliency and coherence, in coordination with Competence Centers and local teams.


The role of the IT infrastructure support specialist includes:

  • Configure/Upgrade LAN/WLAN equipment following LAN Competence center standards
  • Configure/Upgrade VM/ESX/HA environments following GIS standards
  • Support or perform standard monitoring implementation (Check_MK) and coordinate development of specifics monitoring needs
  • Provide IT Infra L2 level troubleshooting and coordinate between local team and competence centers if necessary
  • Perform root cause analysis, ensuring problem reoccurrence prevention
  • Provide technical recommendations to local teams to fix performance issues, increase availability/resilience of the IT Infrastructure, based on agreed standards
  • Participates to internal team processes improvements/tools to increase team efficiency (documentations, automation scripts, reporting, training)
  • Potential participation to a 24/7 on duty organization



The ideal candidate will have/be: 

  • 5+ years of  IT Infrastructure administration
  • Knowledge of Cisco based LAN/WLAN technologies is a must (candidate must be comfortable in an iOS CLI environment)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environment and basic infra services (DNS, DHCP, NTFS based filers..)
  • Knowledge of VMware ESXi solutions
  • Upper-intermediate level in English, written and spoken (B2)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills is a must
  • Be judicious during major incidents, prioritizing problems according to their urgency and influence on the business
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to ITOP operators/management
  • Be able to work and communicate and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to absorb/link many information on a wide range of infrastructures topics / self-learning skills
  • Must be willing to work occasional weekends or off peak hours to support upgrade scenarios or production
