Our Division Digital Services Factory is looking for a Leader in Artificial Intelligence for our site in Paris, France.

 

The Digital Services Factory (DSF) is a fast-growing team in charge of providing AI solutions for manufacturing excellence and efficiency as well as for smart product development for the automotive industry. In order to meet these increasing expectations, we are enriching our team by recruiting a Lead Data Scientist.

 

We are looking for a candidate that has a solid track record in applied machine learning to take over our team of 25 data scientists, who are specialized in various techniques such as computer vision, deep learning, time and signal analysis. Our ideal candidate will be a technical expert capable of managing a highly technically team and who can deliver sustainable solutions to industrial settings.

 

 

Mission

 

We are looking for a candidate that has a solid track record in applied machine learning to take over our team of 25 data scientists, who are specialized in various techniques such as computer vision, deep learning, time and signal analysis. Our ideal AI Tribe Lead will be a technical expert capable of managing a highly technically team and who can deliver sustainable solutions to industrial settings.

 

Soft skills are also important as you will have to interact and collaborate with internal experts to identify new projects and present their results to both technical and non-technical audience. In line with this, it is expected that you identify yourself in the following core values of the DSF:

  • Entrepreneurship: Capacity and willingness to understand the needs of the end-user and develop accordingly the product
  • Autonomy: Capacity to search for required solutions, for example by asking the right questions to the right persons. This might also imply to explore new areas unknown to the team now.
  • Accountability: Being responsible of own development and product. Feeling a sense of ownership and proudness in the work done.
  • Directness: The work environment in Faurecia and particularly around the DSF is fast paced. It is crucial to be able to deliver quick and efficient feedback as soon as possible.

Main duties and responsibilities

 

The Lead AI Data Scientist will be integrated in the center of competence team and

  • Will lead the Data Scientist Community (approximately 25 people), including the hiring management and coaching of the AI network within the DSF and within Faurecia
  • Contribute to the life of the AI tribe by encouraging Data Scientists in activities such as presentations, paper reviews, challenging & proposing new ideas
  • He/She will be involved in projects ranging from automated quality inspection, to manufacturing process optimization, to intelligent systems development integrated in our products
  • Will be involved in the delivery of production ready software, so proficiency in at least one programming language is expected (preferably in-depth python knowledge)
  • Knowledge management & innovation, participation to the PRAIRIE & SIA ecosystems, being the recognized tribe leader of the AI community within the DSF

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Will have a PhD in a quantitative field and/or a minimum of 10 years of experience in machine learning or AI domains
  • Proven track record in applying machine learning techniques and algorithms to complex industrial / manufacturing environments
  • Important to have a systems approach to understand how several algorithms fit within complex systems for industrial performance
  • Master / Senior expert level
  • Publication history in peer reviewed journals
  • Experience in computer vision, signal analysis and time series analytics applied to areas such as anomaly detection, object detection, quality control
  • Experience in working in one of the main cloud environments (Azure)
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
