Essential responsibilities and duties

The Program Purchasing Manager is responsible for structuring and piloting purchasing programs of a Division/Region to guarantee achievement of the Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) objectives. He/she manages Program Buyers and interfaces with other program team functions (engineering, sales, finance, quality,…) regarding program development.

 

The main missions of the role are:

    • Ensure the involvement of the Acquisition Buyers in any new project in the acquisition phase: maintain constant contact with the program management staff, appoint an Acquisition Buyer from the beginning of the pre-acquisition phase, involve expert suppliers in this phase
    • Control the supplier selection: confirm that the supplier selection is aligned with the supplier panel, attend negotiations for complex parts in collaboration with the Commodity Buyers
    • Monitor the purchasing performance of programs: ensure control of costs, respect for delivery deadlines, respect for quality requirements in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and the implementation of corrective actions
    • Manage the assigned team of Acquisition and Program Buyers
    • Ensure regular reporting for assigned programs in terms of cost, quality and delivery

 

 
 

 

 

Qualifications  

 

The ideal candidate will have/be :

 

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business.

 

Nice to have: Professional Purchasing Qualification

 

Experience :

    • Minimum 8 years experience in an industrial environment
    • Experience with international exposure

 

Nice to have:

• First experience in Program Management, Program purchasing, or other Purchasing role

• Proven experience in a management role

 

Skills and competencies :  

    • Knowledge of products design, development and production launch processes
    • Knowledge of APQP and program management in automotive
    • Understanding of purchasing commodity strategy
    • Fluent English
