Lead Software Engineer - FOTA C++

Overall responsibilities and duties:

To develop OTA framework and system module using C++ which will be the core system of software update, which enables keeping the software in our customer's cars fresh.

  • This role focuses on the embedded part of the system. You will be able to utilize your experience and expertise with the topics like memory, communication, security and alike in shaping the software update service.
  • As a Software Engineer in an agile team, you will develop features as well as design, document, implement, integrate and test your code. Development will typically have C++ and deeply embedded operating system focus and make use of modern tools, technologies, engineering practices and methodologies.
  • As a member of the Software Update and Dynamic Content domain you will enable our platform and applications in their update lifecycle and thereby build one of the most important and core features of our upcoming infotainment system.
  • In the agile development team you will design, implement, integrate and test your code. You will be part of a larger software organization.
  • Availability for work on weekends as per customer deadlines
  • Leading Test Team of upto 5-7 members
  • Attend and present Architecture, Design, Critical Bug fixes to customer


The ideal canssdidate will have/be:

Minimum education level:

  • Bacheloer’s or Master's Degree in computer science or similar education


  • 8-12 years of professional experience in SW projects within Automotive domain
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active in your working style
  • Experience in object-oriented programming languages (C++).
  • Experience in embedded software development.
  • Expericence of code review of team members
  • Creation for user story based on estimation for task
  • Understanding of wifi hotspot for OTA doenloading
  • Experience in developing software Azure DevOps environment.
  • You work practically and communicate in a structured way.
  • You are a people person (helping, inspiring and engaging team members when  encountering obstacles).
  • Experience with embedded Linux and Yocto
  • Experience in low-level development of embedded systems such as firmware update, bootloader and device drivers
  • Experience with version control and CI/CD
  • Experience with firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) update, delta updatesExcellent analytical skills that help identify problems and seek solutions promptly.
  • Experience with in-vehicle infotainment systems
  • Experience with automotive diagnostics
  • Experience with git and Jenkins
  • Basic security knowledge, such as encryption and signatures.
  • Basic knowledge of network technologies.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

Skills and competencies:

  • Develop automotive grade software in C++ for QNX and embedded Linux operating systems.
  • Participate in every stage of the software development from requirement analysis, design and implementation to module and software verification.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams across various geographies
  • Attention to detail
