Lead Engineer

The main missions:


He/she supports the Product & Process Chief Engineer (PPCE). He/she functionally manages a part of the PPCE’s team. He/she ensures that all standard methodologies are applied by his/her team of PMLs and PDLs.


The Product & Process Engineering leader coaches, supports,and leads a team of PMLs and PDLs from the Acquisition phase until GR4 closure, generally at SOP + 6 months.


Team Management

  • Functionally manage a team of PML and PDL
  • Holds 1-on-1’s with PML/PDL functional reports
  • Guide, support and leads the team for on time delivery of Manufacturing and Engineering work-packages. Consolidate and Validate quality of deliverables of manufacturing and engineering work-packages
  • On behalf of the PPCE, act as a technical interface with the customer
  • Together with the PPCE, train, coach and develop his team of PMLs and PDLs
  • Participate in building and tracking:
    • Investment / Capex budgets
    • Resources budget
    • Development and Testing budget
  • Assist the PPCE in reporting key indicators
  • Assist and support the PPCE for weekly/monthly/GAP team reviews
  • Drive best practices across programs/engineers – collaborate with peers in other CBU’s
  • Assist PPCE in resource management
  • Drive increased and consistent use of BTC, tooling engineers and design lead roles
  • Technical point of escalation for program team

Main Tasks in Programs

  • Tracking of Helios Work Package & TVR deliverables for manufacturing (PML) and for engineering (PDL)
  • Provides support as a backup at key industrialization events (PT/MPT/Design Reviews/EDW, etc)
  • Innovation awareness
  • RFQ support if needed
  • Limited program and work package responsibility (as-needed with a target of 0%)
  • Ensures product design meets SOW requirements


The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • 5 to 10 years of automotive background
  • Proven technical skills on product and process
  • Cross functional Management skills
  • Familiar with Program finance issues (BP, costing, P&L, investments)
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • English required
