Overall responsibilities and duties:


The primary responsibility of the Cost Estimator is estimating metal components using predefined cost models and Faurecia methodology.  Support all BG’s with Costing support for new programs and ECR’s.

The main missions of the role are:

  • Support of RFE system in generating pc/cost quotations; stampings, blanks, tubes, wires, fasteners, simple subassemblies and all associated tooling for each end item.
  • Support for Program Purchasing in reviewing vendor quotations negotiations
  • Updating cost models as economic conditions change in the market
  • Support Engineering with Manufacturing Feasibility of stamping components
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum education level and/or career experience:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Manufacturing/Tooling experience; Journeyman Tool & Die with strong computer skills



  • 5 years cost estimating
  • Stamping processes, accurately estimate blank size, create tool line-up for stampings
  • Manufacturing processes for tubes, wires, fasteners
  • Processing/estimating simple assembly process: MIG, Projection, Rivet, Bushing Insertion, Tapping, Secondary Forming/Piercing, Heat Treatment, Deburr,


Skills & Competencies:


  • Ability to manage uncertainty and resist to stakeholder pressure
  • Support multiple internal customers in effort to satisfy all external customers
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills and autonomy
  • Ability to seek information and ask questions when lack of data exists
  • Good negotiation skills and arbitration abilities
  • Good knowledge of Faurecia business model
  • Strong component cost estimating background in the Automotive environment
  • Experience with FTI/AutoForm to create stamping component blank sizes
  • Develop stamping process to generate tool cost using FTI/AutoForm.
  • Ability to generate cost data from drawings or sketches with minimal details
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
