We are looking for a DataBase Administrator (SQL Server) to join our IT teams in Seloncourt (France) !

The main role as DataBase Administrator (F/M) is to lead DataBases on each life phase, from system decision, homologation, installation, production support and decomissioning. The candidate will work in collaboration with technical application owners as well as project managers and applications departments.


Main missions of the role

  • Standardize and homologate database systems for the group. Mainly SQL Server, but as well PostgreSQL and Oracle … considering any new SQL or noSQL databases which would make sense to projects
    • Learn in an early phase the new features of a new version
    • Test new versions in relation to what this could bring to our systems
    • Decide on the best standards to apply
    • Deliver procedures (installation, upgrade, migration...)


  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support to application operation teams or local system administrators
    • Run performance analysis as pro-active or support
    • Deliver tuning / fine tuning elements and in some cases set them up
    • Perform SQL code optimisation to support software developers
    • Deliver solutions / workarounds to approach identified issues


  • Support operations (startup/migrations/upgrades) for the database part
    • Make sure the data will be safe during all steps by taking active part to the PDCA definition
    • Being part of the operation to secure it


  • Ensure BACKUP of production databases


  • Partly : Being part of the BACKUP competence center
    • VEEAM backup
    • DRUVA O365 backup (Grafana monitoring/analytics)


The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a specialisation in  Information Technology
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Database Administration
  • IT mindset with willingness to learn top technology elements and to share acquired knowledge with colleagues
  • Ability to use methods, norms and tools of software development  
  • Good communication skills
  • Good English skills (oral and written)
  • Business trip : 10% of the time
