SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Production Department. This included adherence to production schedules, effective management of operators and related activities; to ensure an environment of consistency, cooperation and respect is maintained.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Oversee daily activities of the Production Lines on the appropriate shift. Plan, coordinate and advise department employees of daily tasks
  • Monitor production, Materials and Maintenance processes to ensure smooth flow. Receive and resolve operation problems for all departments
  • Monitor performance for production department with regards to following the company’s policies and procedures (i.e., Housekeeping, 5S, safety, and prompt break schedules, etc.
  • Ensure productivity, efficiency and quality standards are achieved on a daily basis
  • Responsible for enforcing the progressive discipline procedures, including consultation with Human Resources and the Department Manager; Completion of required documentation and facilitate disciplinary meetings
  • Ensure daily pre-shift meetings are attended by you and your staff to discuss safety, productions, and quality related goals
  • Leading and mentoring assigned Team Leaders as well as holding them responsible for fulfilling their duties
  • Maintain proper records and backup documentation
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization in regard to safety, morale, efficiency, quality, and discipline
  • Provide feedback to employees (both positive and negative) on an ongoing basis
  • Assigned shift schedule may change according to current job requirements and floor needs
  • Each new supervisor will train on day shift regardless of assigned shift
  • All other duties as assigned

 

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

  • Participate in monthly JHSEC inspections and meetings;
  • Responsible for review of completed accident/incident report, and follow-up on corrective actions
    • Please note that In the event of a major event, please ensure a member of the JHSEC is informed to assist with any investigation
  • Advise all employees of the existence of any potential or actual danger to health & safety of the worker, of which you are aware
  • Use, provide, and enforce company issued PPE
  • Follow and enforce all of the company’s HSE rules and policies
  • Communicate and follow all emergency procedures to department staff
  • Must participate in all company related safety programs
  • Comply with legislative requirements as it pertains to safety

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand; stoop; bend; walk; sit; use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; speak and hear;
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
  • Must also be able to discern various shades of color for all materials;
  • Must be able to use a variety of tools (i.e. hog-ring gun, torque gun, screw driver and mallets, etc.).
