Our Faurecia Clean Mobility Europe Division is looking for a FES&P Engineer for a 6 months internship in its Plant in Terni, Italy.

 

 The mission of the Faurecia Excellence System & Productivity (FES&P) Plant Engineer is to contribute to plant performance and profitability with Direct Labor focus and the application of the Lean operating principles. 

The role can be summarized in three parts, 

  1. At Plant level, provide Lean expertise (HSE, Quality, Employee Empowerment, Logistics and Production system) based on 11 Lean Manufacturing principles to contribute to achieve operational business targets.
  2. Contribute to the Plant direct manpower cost budget construction & achievement, through efficient “Direct Labor cost management” & “Direct Labor cost improvement plan”.
  3. Support Faurecia Excellence System network animation in the plant.

  

The main missions of the role are:

1. At Plant level, provide Lean expertise. 

  • Follow up of the FES deployment plan, to support the Plant Improvement Plan (PIP) execution.
  • Provide, according to the needs, FES knowledge and skills to the plant team through training, coaching and education.

 

  • Participle to FES Principles in Programs from design stage (lean process design, value stream process, validation of equipment design, cardboard workshop activities, standardized work, human organization of production, process layout, packaging, etc..).

 

2. Contribute to the Plant Direct Labor cost budget construction & achievement. 

  • Direct Labor cost management at Plant level:
    • Ensure routing and coefficient data management methodology is correctly applied and respected, for direct standard and actual Labour cost accuracy.
    • Ensure Direct Labor Efficiency / Direct Labor Productivity tracking process linked with the Direct Labor cost % results.
  •  Direct Labor cost improvement: 
    • Support Standard Work construction and adherence, development of Human Organization of Production (primarily GAP Leader and Supervisor roles and routines), as the main foundations to achieve high levels of operational performance.
    • Support the implementation of FES improvement tools for production reliability, change over Standards (flexibility), reduction of Line stoppages, Line balancing, and overall Direct Labor efficiency
    • Ensure identification of Direct Labor Productivity Potential.
    • Contribute to the lead time reduction though the implementation of continuous flow, layout optimization, pull-system and speed up flows works.

3. Support FES network animation in the plant

  • Contribute to deploy FES culture at Production Team level
  • Propose and promote best practices within the Plant (FES Network)
  • Participate to workshops at Europe Division level to test the new ”Lean concept” or advanced tools

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

 

Minimum education level:  Master’s degree in Business or Engineering

 

Skills and competencies:

  • Network animation, coaching and influencing/persuasion skills;
  • Ability to train and coach within the plant;
  • Continuous improvement mindset;
  • Understand basic Profit & Loss and operational levers;
  • Fluent English language knowledge: written and spoken;
  • Problem Diagnosis and analytic skills to understand contexts and define/support the definition of action plans.
