Your mission, roles and responsibilities
- Ensure involvement of the program purchasers in any new project in the Pre-Requisition for Quotation Approval (Pre-RFQA) phase
- Maintain constant contact with the program management staff, name a program buyer from the beginning of the Pre-RFQA phase
- Oversee the involvement of expert suppliers in this phase
- Control the supplier selection: watch the coherence of the selection with the supplier panel, attend negotiations for complex parts in collaboration with the Commodity Manager
- Ensure regular reporting for assigned programs in terms of cost, quality and delivery
- Manage the assigned program buyer's team
- Monitor the purchasing performance of programs: ensure control of costs, respect for delivery deadlines, respect of quality requirements in accordance with the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Engineer, and the implementation of corrective actions
- Lead development of tariff mitigation strategies – including Supplier RFQ, Quote Analysis + Sourcing Recommendation, working with Commodity Manager to align with purchasing strategy
- Present mitigation strategies to CBU to align priorities and execution of quotations
- Manage execution of tariff strategies; working with cross-functional team, PUR, QUAL, ENG, MFG – lead APQP activities including ramp-up/ramp-down plans, managing timing and internal + external communication
- Steel/Raw Material analysis - support customs/broker for information for border crossing - time sensitive responses to support delivery timing and avoid penalties - includes percent of US Forming, Melt/Pour information, identify any exemptions
- Support the leadership and commitment from top management according to the Group environmental policy and Group Quality Policy
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site
Your profile and competencies to succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in an industrial environment
- Experience with international exposure
- Knowledge of products design, development and production launch processes
- Knowledge of APQP and program management in automotive
- Understanding of purchasing commodity strategy
- Program Milestones and KPIs
